Game night,
but it counts.

Turn the weekly game night into a proper season — chess ladders, Scrabble leagues and Pokémon tournament nights with live tables everyone can check from their phone.

Free for players and organisers · set up in minutes · no card needed

One game night, two formats

Both formats, side by side

The best game nights keep everyone playing. Run a structured league for the regulars and a drop-in challenge ladder for everyone else — Tap Leagues keeps both ticking from the same member list.

Table 1

Game-night league

Your regulars split into divisions and play a round-robin box each season — Scrabble, Carcassonne, chess, whatever your night runs on.

Table 2

Challenge ladder

Chess and backgammon were born for this. Challenge the name above you, play when it suits, take their place if you win.

Recommended · Game-night leagues

A league that sorts itself

Drop your players into divisions and we lay out a round-robin box for each one. Every player gets a run of evenly matched games, and the table recalculates the moment a result is approved.

Seasons roll over with promotion and relegation, so the night stays competitive month after month — and newcomers slot straight into the bottom division instead of facing the club champion on day one.

Challenge ladders

The chess ladder, minus the noticeboard

Ladders are the oldest format in gaming — chess and backgammon clubs have run them on pinboards for a century. Pick someone above you, agree a time, and take their place if you win.

You set how far anyone can reach and how long a challenge stays open, and players heading away can freeze their spot so they don't slide while they're gone.

Every way of scoring

Chess draws, Scrabble scores, cribbage races

Board games don't score like racket sports, so Tap Leagues ships presets built for them: single game win or lose, draws allowed for the chess family, highest score wins for Scrabble and Carcassonne, and points races to 121 for cribbage or 100 for dominoes.

Either player enters the result, the other approves it — and if your game isn't covered, clone a preset and tune it in minutes.

Tournament nights · Knockouts

Run a proper tournament night

Friday night Magic, a Pokémon league challenge, the annual chess club championship — seed the draw, pull everyone into a knockout and let the bracket fill in live. Automatic byes handle the odd numbers so nobody sits out round one for nothing.

Players follow the draw between rounds on their phones, and the winner's name lands on the club record alongside the season league — no whiteboard required.

If it's head-to-head, it works

Run a league for any game on the shelf

Anything two players can sit down over, Tap Leagues can run as a league, ladder or tournament — from thousand-year-old classics to this year's hottest trading card game.

Why game nights make the switch

Scoring that fits every game

Win/lose or draws allowed, highest score, first to 121 — ready-made scoring presets cover chess, Scrabble, cribbage and everything between.

Results at the table

Either player taps the result in before the box lid is back on; the other approves it and the standings update live.

Any venue, any night

Board game cafés, friendly local game stores, chess clubs, pubs and office game nights — one link gets everyone in.

Fair, varied matchups

Divisions mix the field every season with promotion and relegation, so nobody replays the same opponent all year.

Tap Leagues is free board game league software and a card game league app for iOS and Android. Whether you run a chess club ladder, a Scrabble or Carcassonne league at a board game café, or Friday-night Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments at your local game store, it handles fixtures, results, scoring presets and live tables — so the arguments stay about the rules of the game, not who's top of the league.

Your move.

Set up your league or ladder, share one link with the group, and let the results keep the table honest.
